Whitestone Gallery in Beijing will present the group exhibition 'Time in the Interstices' from April 25 to June 6, 2026. The show features four Korean artists—Soonik Kwon, Seungtaik Jang, Kim Deok Han, and Lee Chae—whose painting practices explore time as an internal, structural element of the work, rather than a linear narrative or backdrop.
The exhibition highlights a significant conceptual shift in contemporary painting, moving away from the idea of a finished image toward an emphasis on process, materiality, and duration. It positions these Korean artists at the forefront of a global dialogue about painting's relationship to time, making the show a notable event for understanding current trends in abstract and process-based art from East Asia.
