THE PIT Menu Founded by artists Adam D. Miller and Devon Oder in 2014, The Pit is a contemporary art gallery representing and exhibiting emerging, mid-career and established artists spanning generations. The gallery’s program is grounded in a sustained engagement with artists whose practices maintain a dialogue with historical California canons emphasizing the enduring influence of material exploration, design, and counterculture movements on contemporary practices. The gallery began as an artist-run, artist-curated project space operating out of a studio warehouse which was formerly a mechanics garage in Glendale, CA. After ten years operating in the original space, The Pit moved to its current location in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. Designed by JK & Co in collaboration with Miller and Oder, the Atwater Village complex allows for a more expansive vision of what a gallery can provide for an artist and a viewer. The gallery participates in national and international art fairs such as Art Basel Miami Beach, The Armory Show, EXPO Chicago, Frieze Los Angeles, Frieze London, ZonaMaco Mexico City, and more. The Pit is a member of The Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA), New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA), and Gallery Association Los Angeles (GALA). All of our galleries are accessible by wheelchair and fully ADA compliant. There is a free parking lot adjacent to the building that visitors are welcome to use.…
