Dubai gallery The Third Line celebrates its 20th anniversary, marking two decades since its founding in 2005 by Sunny Rahbar, Lisa Farjam, and Claudia Cellini. Born from the anti-Arab sentiment after 9/11, the gallery began as an independent art space with a framing and novelty trading license, operating between a commercial gallery and an artists' space. It launched with a show of five Iranian photographers, later opened a short-lived Doha branch in 2008, and moved to Alserkal Avenue in 2016. To mark the anniversary, the gallery stages an exhibition organized by writer and curator Shumon Basar.
The Tornabuoni Arte gallery in Florence is hosting "Mario Ceroli. Myth and Matter," an anthological exhibition featuring forty sculptures and installations by the Roman artist Mario Ceroli. The show traces his career from the 1960s to 2000, including his iconic wooden silhouettes, works inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, and pieces referencing Greek myth and the Riace Bronzes. The exhibition runs until May 29 at the gallery's Lungarno Benvenuto Cellini 3 location.
A new museum institution called GAMB (Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze e Musei del Bargello) has been established in Florence, unifying seven cultural sites under a single autonomous museum system. The sites include the Galleria dell’Accademia, Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Orsanmichele, Casa Martelli, Palazzo Davanzati, Cappelle Medicee, and the former Church of San Procolo. A new visual identity designed by Milanese studio Migliore+Servetto features a pictogram that maps the geographic distribution of the venues, along with a custom typeface and color palette unique to each location. The launch also coincides with the start of a public restoration project for the base of Benvenuto Cellini’s *Perseo* at the Bargello, open to visitors from May 12 to September 5, 2026.
