Photo London reveals details of tenth anniversary edition

Photo London will celebrate its tenth anniversary edition from May 15-18, 2025 at Somerset House, which is itself marking 25 years as an international arts destination. The fair will feature a strong roster of returning and new international galleries, the return of the Discovery section for emerging galleries, and a new Positions section for unrepresented photographers championed by collectors. Special programming includes a 'London Lives' exhibition showcasing around 30 leading photographers, a solo show by Colin Dodgson presented by Belmond, a new Book Market for independent publishers, a talks programme curated by Thames & Hudson, and awards such as the Photo London x Nikon Emerging Photographer of the Year and the Photo London x Hahnemühle Student Award.

Albuquerque Museum Presents German Modernism Amid Empire, Democracy, and Dictatorship

The Albuquerque Museum will present "Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910-1945: Masterworks from the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin" from August 23, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The exhibition features over 70 paintings and sculptures tracing German modern art from the early 20th-century avant-garde through the Weimar Republic to the Nazi dictatorship, including works by Max Beckmann, Otto Dix, George Grosz, Hannah Höch, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, and Salvador Dalí, many rarely shown in the U.S.

In a risk-averse market, Paris Photo offers diversity

MARCELO BRODSKY IN WIESBADEN MEMORY AS AN ACTIVE PRACTICE

Pop-up Giphy Gallery makes the case for GIFs as fine art

On September 5, Giphy partnered with the Museum of Modern GIFs (MoMG) to launch the Giphy Gallery, a capsule collection featuring three original GIFs from each of over 75 artists. The collaboration, curated by MoMG founder Daniel Murray, debuted with a one-night immersive exhibition at Lume Studios in Manhattan's SoHo, timed to National GIF Day.
