William Nicholson

A major exhibition of William Nicholson (1872-1949) has opened at Pallant House Gallery in Chichester, running from 22 November 2025 to 10 May 2026. It is his first major show in 20 years and spans his entire career, featuring bold posters, woodcuts, portraits, still lifes, and graphic works. The exhibition highlights his collaborations under the name J & W Beggarstaff, his celebrated series *An Alphabet* and *London Types*, and his portraits of both society figures and people from lower social classes. It also includes his book illustrations for works such as *The Velveteen Rabbit* and *Memoirs of a Fox-Hunting Man*.

Spain has announced its participation in the 61st Venice Biennale Arte 2026, selecting Catalan artist Oriol Vilanova to represent the country in its newly renovated national pavilion. The project, titled "Los restos," transforms the pavilion into a pseudo-museum of accumulation, featuring Vilanova's vast personal archive of postcards collected over twenty years from flea markets and secondhand circuits. The installation presents these ephemeral fragments as an infinite, non-narrative mural, exploring themes of accumulation and loss. Curated by Carles Guerra, the project also includes a performative intervention titled "Il fantasma della libertà" (2026), which will unfold across the Giardini and Arsenale during the Biennale.

Perception in orbit: hui.red’s first exhibition with artist Zhang Meichun

hui.red, an independent curatorial platform in Milan founded by Huizhong “Ines” Song, presents its inaugural exhibition "Legitimation of Dust," featuring the work of Chinese artist Zhang Meichun. This marks Zhang Meichun's first exhibition in Italy, showcasing pieces such as "Shoreless River," "Dust of Breath," "Fossil of Light," and "The Blind Oracle" that blend body, data, and cosmic perception through sensors, algorithms, and interactive installations.
