Award-winning painter Harvey Bodach is set to present a solo exhibition at the Stonebridge Arts Hub in Wasaga Beach, running from April 16 to June 13. The showcase features Bodach’s signature realism style, focusing on wildlife and landscapes inspired by the natural world. A former educator who turned to full-time artistry in 2019, Bodach has since garnered 14 national and international awards for his meticulously composed works.
Contemporary painter Elizabeth Schnura is set to debut her first solo exhibition, "Big Helpers: Mutualism Magnified," at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Bolingbrook. Running from April 15 through July 19, the showcase features large-scale, vibrant oil paintings that document the symbiotic relationships between plants and animals found within the Will County forest preserves. Schnura’s work utilizes contemporary realism to transform her own nature photography into detailed compositions that highlight often-overlooked creatures like spiders and insects.
The Oxford Community Arts Center recently hosted the opening of "Changing Climate, Changing Communities," an exhibition organized by Engaging for Climate in Oxford (ECO). The show features a diverse range of media, including paintings, sculptures, and graphic works created by professional artists, Miami University faculty, and local elementary students. Notable works include Tara Trueblood’s abstract painting "The Flood," which explores the tension between crisis and hope, and imaginative drawings of undiscovered animals by sixth-grade students from Ridgeway Elementary.
Teen Arts New Jersey has launched "Creative Change Makers," a group exhibition at the Long Branch Arts & Cultural Center featuring works by high school students from across the state. The showcase focuses on the theme of sustainable art, with visual, performing, and literary submissions exploring environmental issues, animal ecosystems, and community health. Selected top performers will receive honorariums during the New Jersey State Teen Arts Festival in June 2026.
Eighteen students from Chatham High School have had their original artworks selected for the annual Blackwell Art Show, currently hosted at the Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey. The students, encouraged by arts teacher Eric Hreha, submitted works ranging from abstract architectural paintings and character designs to vibrant illustrations, joining a competitive selection of hundreds of applicants from across Morris County.
