Sumac Cottage in Greensboro, Alabama

Sumac Cottage, a historic 1820s building in Greensboro, Alabama, has been restored and transformed into a community arts space by visual artist Aaron Sanders Head and musician Tim Higgins. The cottage, which was nearly demolished and had only three walls remaining, now hosts workshops, exhibitions, performances, and community events. Its most recent exhibition, “Home Once,” featured a visual installation by Jenna Clark with performances by Clark, Jasper Lee, Sam Herman, and Ryan Brown.

Historic Northumberland figure inspires art exhibition

An art exhibition celebrating the life and legacy of Louisa, Marchioness of Waterford, will be held at Etal Village Hall in Northumberland on May 24. The free event features 30 finalist works—ranging from film and paintings to textiles and sculpture—submitted by artists from across northern England and the Scottish Borders. The winner will receive the Louisa Waterford Prize, and visitors can vote for the People's Prize. The exhibition is organized by The Tin Shed, a collective that supports artists and makers through online studios and pop-up events.

Northport Arts Association holds Photo Exhibit

The Northport Arts Association is hosting its ninth annual Northport Photo Exhibit, launching Memorial Day weekend with a free opening reception on May 23, 2026, at its gallery in Northport, Michigan. The exhibit runs through June 14 and features over 100 framed photographs from professional and emerging photographers across Michigan and beyond, with categories judged on impact, lighting, storytelling, and technical quality. Awards include Best of Show, a new anonymous donor award called 'Dem Der Eyes,' People's Choice, and four category prizes.
