Exhibitions on view in July at Southwest Florida art centers

Southwest Florida is home to over a dozen art centers, and in July 2025, 24 exhibitions are on view across venues from Sarasota to Marco Island. Highlights include Art Center Sarasota's 'Vice and Virtue: Annual Juried Regional Show,' juried by curator Jessica Todd, exploring morality and duality; Venice Art Center's solo shows by Karen Weih and Cosette Kosiba; the 'Over the Bridge' exhibition at Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda featuring B.A. Wikoff and Lily Obsitnik; and the 'Member’s Showcase Exhibit' at the same venue. Satellite shows and the DeSoto Arts Center's annual art show round out the month's offerings.

SOPAC Announces Farida Sherif as 2026 Paul Bartick Emerging Artist Award Recipient

The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) has named Farida Sherif, a senior at Verona High School, as the recipient of its 2026 Paul Bartick Emerging Artist Award. Sherif was selected by an award committee for the strength, individuality, and compelling voice of her work, which she developed through SOPAC's Inspired Minds Young Artist Exhibition program. She will receive the award at a gallery opening reception on May 14, 2026.

Young artists make a strong impression at juried art show

The 15th Annual High School Juried Art Show at the Mann Art Gallery in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, held its awards ceremony at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre, drawing students, families, teachers, and community leaders. Peter Smallboy, a Grade 12 student from Big River Public High School, won Best in Show for his charcoal work "Inner Sight," inspired by the beauty of the human eye. Other award winners included Alice Rosetti, Tatianna Trautmann, Cristyn Mitchell, Jorja Hanson-Lemaigre, Arrow Anderson, Kiara Levesque, and Abeedah Saka-Bello, with 67 artists exhibiting works in media ranging from painting and sculpture to photography and textiles.

March 14: ‘WomanWise’ group exhibition artist reception at Mosaic Art Collective

The Mosaic Art Collective in Manchester, New Hampshire, is hosting a group exhibition titled "WomanWise" from March 9 through March 30, 2026. Presented in partnership with The Equality Health Center, the show features 31 original works by local artists that explore themes of womanhood, empowerment, and community. A public reception on March 14 will feature the announcement of three best-in-show prizes selected by guest juror and artist-in-residence Shaylee Elliette-French.

Milton Keynes Snap learners unveil new community art exhibition

Learners from the Milton Keynes charity MK Snap have launched a new community art exhibition at Unity Place. The showcase features seven selected artworks that explore themes of individuality, inclusion, and local identity, with several pieces referencing iconic landmarks like the Concrete Cows and the Whispering Statue. The project was developed through the charity’s canvas art sessions, which provide creative outlets for adults with learning disabilities.

‘War, Religion and Love’ collide in Sac State student’s solo art exhibition

Sacramento State fine arts student Desiree Thomas has debuted her solo exhibition, "War, Religion and Love," at the university’s R.W. and Joyce Witt Gallery. The show features oil paintings that utilize romanticized imagery to explore unsettling themes, including internal psychological struggles and the domestic lives of Nazi soldiers.
