Sunday's floating art exhibition in Norfolk is a love letter to its waterways

A floating art exhibition called the Hague Parade will debut on Sunday, October 5, 2025, on the Hague River in Norfolk, Virginia. Organized by artist Lindsay Horne and her studio wastelust in partnership with the Chrysler Museum of Art, the event features nine artist teams—including students from the Governor's School for the Arts—who have designed sustainable, leave-no-trace floats using canoes, kayaks, and rain barrels. Inspired by the Bosch Parade in the Netherlands, the parade aims to celebrate Norfolk's waterways and foster community engagement, with additional activities like a fashion show on a pedestrian bridge.
