KAG in Tokyo is presenting a group exhibition titled "月を射る" (Shooting the Moon), running from May 19 to August 16, 2026. The show takes its starting point from a prose poem of the same name by Korean poet Yun Dong-ju (1917–1945), who wrote it in 1939 under Japanese colonial rule and later died in a Fukuoka prison. The exhibition spans pre-war and wartime educational films, propaganda, performance, and contemporary fieldwork, featuring works by artists such as Inoue Kan (Lee Byung-woo), Choe Seung-hui, Kamei Fumio, Yoshimi Yasushi, Atsugi Taka, Fujii Hikaru, Yamamoto Seiko, T.T. Takemoto, Morita Reine, Gataro, and Shirakawa Masao. It examines the management models formed by the former empire and the spiritual structure of colonialism that underlies contemporary issues, centering on works that carry the "memory of censorship"—banned, deleted, or denied existence by national, administrative, or social norms.
The Winkler Arts and Culture High School Art Show is currently on display from May 14 to June 6, featuring works by students from Northlands Parkway Collegiate (NPC) and Garden Valley Collegiate (GVC) in the Pembina Valley. An exhibition titled "Vahepealsuse lävel. Kõik teed tõid Eestimaale" ("At the Threshold of In-Betweenness. The 26th Annual North Coast Open Studios (NCOS) will take place on weekends June 6-7 and June 13-14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a kickoff art night on Friday, June 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event features 150 local artists opening their studios to the public between Eureka and Trinidad, and east to Willow Creek. A DreamMaker project of the Ink People, NCOS offers visitors the chance to see artists in their creative spaces, purchase art directly from makers, and enjoy the 'creative disaster' of working studios. Some artists are open by appointment year-round, and the Friday kickoff overlaps with Eureka Friday Night Markets.
The Children's Gallery in Tampere, Finland, is presenting two exhibitions this spring. FIRST Disability Support & Training Service in Loganholme, Queensland, is hosting the third annual Grind skate deck art exhibition in July 2026, with over 100 entrants from across Australia. Christian Art has launched the Faith Art Prize, a rebranded international award formerly known as the Laudamus Award, celebrating contemporary art that engages with faith, prayer, and the sacred. The prize offers a total fund of £30,000, including a £25,000 first prize donated by John J Studzinski CBE, and is open to artists worldwide working in any medium. Flick Chafer-Smith, a First Nations artist, turned her life around after being incarcerated on her 18th birthday and spending six years in and out of prison due to drug addiction. Through the Victorian Indigenous arts program The Torch, she discovered painting as a means of expression and healing. She is now among 424 artists featured in Confined 17, an annual exhibition at Glen Eira Town Hall showcasing works by First Nations artists with lived experience of incarceration in Victoria. The exhibition includes paintings, weavings, ceramics, and carved emu eggs, with sales proceeds going directly to the artists.
An exhibition titled '20 Years of Art Refuge 2006-2026' opens May 13th in London, celebrating two decades of the UK-registered charity Art Refuge.
