Pittsford Fine Art will host a solo exhibition of oil paintings by Western New York artist Gary E. Harris from May 1 through May 31, 2026. The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, New York, is launching its 35th annual High School Juried Art Show on April 18, 2026. This year’s exhibition features 136 selected works from over 440 submissions, representing student artists from 18 regional school districts across five counties. An exhibition titled “ATLAS: Historical Works and Recent Journeys of Alberto Rey” is on view at the Marion Art Gallery through November 21. The show features 133 paintings, drawings, and ceramics by Alberto Rey, a SUNY Distinguished Professor Emeritus who taught at Fredonia from 1989 to 2022. The works were created during and after a five-month expedition to 14 countries and 22 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2024, alongside pivotal pieces from past series such as “Binary Forms,” “Extinct Birds,” and “Critically Endangered Palms of Cuba.” The exhibition also includes journal entries, sketchbooks, and art supplies from the voyage.
Two ceramic artists, Errol Willett and Edward Feldman, opened the 2025-26 exhibition year at SUNY Cortland’s Dowd Fine Arts Gallery with the show “Creating Movement and Flow: A Conversation of Form and Utility.” The exhibition, on view through November 14, 2025, features ceramic works that emphasize motion and process over static objects. SUNY Oswego's Tyler Art Gallery opens its fall season with 'Rhino World Order,' an exhibition of large-scale ceramic and plaster sculptures by Buffalo-based artist Richard Tomasello. Local artist Regina Losinger, a retired SUNY Broome administrator, opens her exhibition "Follow the Water" at Cooperative Gallery 213 in Binghamton, New York, on First Friday. The State University of New York (SUNY) has announced the 2025 recipients of its annual arts awards, including the Thayer Fellowship of the Arts, the Patricia Kerr Ross Award, and the Best of SUNY art exhibition winners. Key Bird from the University at Albany and Misael Hernandez from the University at Buffalo each received a $7,000 Thayer Fellowship, while Rush Carson from Purchase College won the $1,000 Patricia Kerr Ross Award. Three students received Best of SUNY Awards, with four additional students earning honorable mention. The awards were presented by SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. and the SUNY Board of Trustees.
SUNY Potsdam’s Gibson Gallery is hosting a new exhibition featuring the work of alumna Raquel Acevedo Klein and her family. Klein, a 2016 graduate who primarily studied music at the Crane School of Music, returned to the campus from New York City to install the show, which highlights her dual career as both a visual artist and a professional musician. The exhibition will culminate in a collaborative musical performance on campus.
