Active Art is a free community outreach initiative hosted by the Aspen Art Museum designed specifically for seniors in the Roaring Fork Valley. The program facilitates social engagement through a combination of exhibition tours, guided conversations, and hands-on workshops. These activities are strategically developed to improve hand dexterity, enhance memory, and promote self-reflection among the elderly population.
The program operates twice monthly at the museum and various satellite locations, offering accessible programming without the need for prior registration. Supported by major philanthropic partners including the Questrom Education Fund and the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, the initiative underscores the museum's commitment to public access and lifelong learning within the local community.
