Public Images Gallery opens on Route 66

Public Images Gallery, a new art space owned by Larry White, opens on Route 66 in Tulsa at 1507 E. 11th Street, next to Ike’s Chili. Its inaugural exhibition, “Roots, Rock, and Rebels ... The Photography of Henry Diltz,” features the work of renowned rock photographer Henry Diltz. An abridged version of this show was previously held at the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa in 2019 but was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The grand opening takes place on May 1 from 4 to 10 p.m., with Diltz appearing in person during First Friday festivities.

Plum Bottom Hosts Outdoor Art Show

Plum Bottom Gallery in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, will host its annual outdoor art show on Memorial Day weekend, May 23–24, 2025, from 11 am to 4 pm. The event features sculpture, glass, painting, jewelry, and mixed media works by a roster of nationally collected artists, with featured artists Sue Pruss, Rose Kleman, and Curtis Hall appearing on Saturday. The gallery has also recently added Wisconsin-based photographer Tommy Nigbor to its artist roster, known for his minimalist landscapes and rural scenes.

The Castello di Sammezzano, a Moorish-style castle near Florence, Italy, is set for a major revival. Built in the 19th century by the Marquis Ferdinando Panciatichi Ximenes d'Aragona, the castle is one of Italy's most important examples of Orientalist architecture, featuring over sixty uniquely decorated rooms, a monumental park, and rare botanical species. After decades of neglect, auctions, and sporadic openings, the property was purchased in 2025 by the family of entrepreneur Giorgio Moretti, who plans a €50 million restoration. The first phase will focus on rehabilitating the historic gardens, with work beginning in June 2026.

Madras art gallery celebrates four decades with local artists showcase

The Art Adventure Gallery in Madras, Oregon, is celebrating its 40th anniversary on May 7th with a special event from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The gallery opened in 1986 after a Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce art show revealed strong community interest but no permanent exhibition space. The anniversary event will showcase work from local artists, including the Tananáwit artist community of Warm Springs, and the first 40 attendees will receive free ice cream in hand-made ceramic bowls.
